The director and designer chose to represent the Giver's realm of knowledge as a wall of blank strips of vellum.  We concealed this environment with a pair of imposing, multi-purpose scenic walls installed in a "V" configuration. 

​

We wanted to place lighting instruments fairly close to the wall of vellum.  Following a flammability test, we proceeded to treat every sheet of vellum with flame retardant prior to installation.

​

One young actor was able move an entire wall unit due to our simple wagon and pivot assembly, so only two crew members were needed to accomplish the wall shifts whenever locations changed.
